Richard Wood is the name that recurs most often in accounts of work carried out by Gemstock Chartered Surveyors, with customers describing him as knowledgeable and professional. A recurring theme is his handling of dilapidations matters, whether for commercial premises or residential extensions, where schedules of condition and schedules of dilapidations are prepared with considerable care. Reviewers mention how detailed these documents are, setting out required repairs alongside the costs involved.

Communication is another strand running through the feedback, as clients note his responsiveness and the way he manages discussions with the opposing party and their professional adviser without friction, helping to reach a substantial dilapidations agreement that then opened the door to a fresh lease. The journey from tender through to completion is described as smooth and well organised, with comprehensive paperwork produced at each stage. One particularly testing matter concerned a neighbour who objected to a garden extension; his careful handling secured the outcome the client had hoped for. Diligence and helpfulness come through in most comments, and the results achieved point to a surveyor who pairs technical knowledge with a practical manner.
