Privacy policy

Surveyor Compare - privacy notice surveyorcompare.co.uk is a directory of building surveyors, party wall surveyors and land surveyors, built to help people commissioning survey work compare practices and read genuine customer feedback. In this notice, "we" refers to the operator of the site, reachable at [email protected].

Where surveyor listings come from The building, party wall and land surveying practices listed here, and the reviews attached to them, are compiled from publicly available Google Maps entries, which we check and update from time to time. A surveying practice that wants its details amended or its listing taken down can request this by emailing us directly, and we will act on genuine requests without delay.

Browser and server data You do not need to provide personal information to search for a surveyor on this site, and there is no sign-up process. As with virtually all websites, though, your browser automatically sends our servers routine technical information on each visit, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you view; this is stored in server logs and used solely to keep the site secure and functioning correctly.

Cookies and advertising We may use cookies for site analytics and to serve advertising. Some advertising partners, including Google, use these cookies to show adverts based on your interests, informed by your activity on this and other websites. You can control interest-based advertising through myadcenter.google.com, and cookies can be managed or deleted via your browser settings.

Rights available to you Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access the data held about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, and object to particular processing activities, along with other rights set out in that legislation. A simple email to us is all that's needed to raise any of these, and we will look into the request without unnecessary delay. Should our response not satisfy you, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, can be contacted at ico.org.uk.

Third-party websites Listings link through to individual surveyors' own websites and to Google Maps; we take no responsibility for the privacy practices of those external pages once you have left our site.
