Herts Party Wall Surveyors

I found myself under considerable stress when my neighbours to be, missed setting up a Party Wall, etc. Act 1996 document, before commencing excavations and starting to build. I knew nothing about this document, until I was issued with one to sign, quite late in proceedings. I was concerned about this and investigated it, to find I was entitled to what is known as a Schedule of Condition, to protect myself against any damage that might be caused to my property by the work being done on the property owners’s behalf. I contacted James from Herts Party Walls and although he was knowledgeable and efficient I wasn’t sure if this is the course I should take, or whether to assign a surveyor of my own. He was patient with me, explaining my options. It was too late to draw up an official one under the Party Wall Act, as excavations had been finished, but he could still draw up a Schedule of Condition, recording the state of my property at this stage, as proof, if any damage was caused to my property in the future. All things considered, I made an appointment with James, who came us an independent surveyor and working on behalf of both parties. I found him knowledgeable, efficient, fair and considerate to my needs. He instilled confidence in me again. He was able to draw up a Schedule of Condition and a private Award between the property owners and myself. He was reassuring all the way, doing all he could to help, which really impressed me and put my mind at ease.
