John here. The first phone call with Ian he will tell you it’s a service not just to survey your potential purchase but a service to protect you and your investment. This is all true, my purchase has not proceeded and I am still leaving a 5 star review. The detailed work Ian did, along with the personal calls and communications is truly an example of best in class surveyor. A full day inspecting the 266 year old house we wanted and he left none of it untouched, giving us the facts. A call to say the house is not what it seems for many reason and to advise against the deal, saving the investment and lifelong headache. S and B will be the only surveyors I ever use and when we find the next house that ticks the boxes we will be using S and B. 5* and more.

Ian completed a level 2 residential survey for me recently as part of a house purchase that I am just starting. Ian was always friendly, put me at ease and replied in good time to any queries I had. The final report supplied was comprehensive and while initially seemingly daunting, was actually an easy read. The only point that I feel would improve the service is automated or manual notifications of when a survey date has been booked or rearranged, but aside from that the communication was flawless and Ian provides a high standard of work. I would absolutely use this company for future work if needed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services to others.
