We went with this company to buy our first home. We went for a Level 3 survey. £700 we paid. Recommendation - “Budget for more extensive roof repairs or eventual replacement” within the next 5-10 years - “From the photographs taken from the hatch, no visible signs of deterioration, cracking, timber decay or dry rot were observed.” We also paid extra for the drone. We moved in 17th of July and on the 1st of September we are now paying £20k for a new roof, replacing/reinforcing timber structure because it’s so rotten from how bad the roof has been. What was the point of this survey?

Simon, our surveyor, was really helpful, and even after the time that's passed since, could recall the details of the property. We thought his report was really thorough, and we really appreciate the effort he clearly went to, and the pride he has in his work. Our solicitor was also really impressed and said it was the most detail he had seen in a surveyors report in some time! Outstanding Survey Service – Highly Recommended This is now the third time I have used IQS Chartered Surveyors, the first two properties I was planning to purchase appeared fine on the surface, but thanks to the detailed surveys carried out by IQS, a number of serious hidden issues were identified, including damp, potential dry rot concerns, and other defects that were not visible during viewings. Their professional expertise helped me avoid two potentially very costly purchases and ultimately protected what would have been a significant portion of my life savings. Without their thorough investigations and honest advice, I could easily have proceeded with properties that would have required extensive and expensive remedial work. Really great detailed report of the property, we were going into the sale thinking we knew pretty much everything we needed too on the property and was doing the survey more as a formality, but there are a few things we didn't pick up on our report that have really helped us prepare what maintenance we will need to do to the house when we hopefully get in! Took a week to get the report back too which was pretty quick. Thanks IQS 👍
