I honestly can’t recommend Millington Surveyors enough. Stefan came out to my property and from the very start he was professional, friendly and incredibly helpful. He’s extremely knowledgeable and clearly knows his stuff. His report was really thorough, and the whole process was made so easy because of the way Stefan dealt with everything. Even when I needed an extension on my Help to Buy, he was there to help and made sure everything was as straightforward as possible. One of the biggest positives for me was that he was local, quick to respond and quick to arrange a visit to the property. I never felt like I was struggling through the process because Stefan was always helpful and easy to deal with. He’s not only a professional at what he does, but also just a really top bloke. Absolutely shocking experience. The surveyor came out to inspect my 7-year-old property and produced a report that raised serious concerns about their knowledge and competence. They stated that there were no felt support trays installed in the roof and suggested this had caused staining to the fascias. However, on modern properties built to NHBC standards, felt support trays are a standard requirement, and my house would not have passed inspection without them. The alleged staining on the fascias turned out to be nothing more than surface dirt that wiped off easily. Despite this, the roof was given a Level 3 (red) rating, implying urgent attention was required. Concerned by the report, I instructed an independent roofing contractor to carry out a full inspection. The roofer was astonished by the findings in the survey and stated that the roof is actually in excellent condition. Several other comments in the report were also unsupported and could not be substantiated during the independent inspection. I have formally lodged a complaint with the company and am extremely disappointed with the quality and accuracy of the survey. Based on my experience, I would have serious reservations about relying on their reports.
