I recently had a home survey done by A1 Surveyors, and I have to say, I was really impressed with their service. From the moment I contacted them, the team was friendly and professional, making the whole process feel smooth and straightforward. They took the time to listen to my concerns and answered all my questions patiently, which really put my mind at ease. On the day of the survey, I was told by the vendor the surveyor arrived on time, and you could tell he was knowledgeable and experienced. He walked them through the process and explained what he would be checking for in the house. They appreciated how thorough he was; he didn’t rush and made sure to examine every aspect of the property carefully. Once the survey was complete, I received the report promptly, and it was clear and comprehensive. I felt like I understood everything he pointed out, from minor issues to major concerns. It was great to have the peace of mind knowing what needed attention. Overall, I can confidently say that A1 Surveyors provided a top-notch experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a home survey. Their expertise and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set them apart, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again in the future. Please do not use this surveyor. He attended my property over three hours late and was at the property for approximately 15 minutes in total, which is confirmed by our Ring doorbell footage. He also appeared ill-equipped to carry out a proper survey, arriving without basic equipment such as ladders or a damp meter. A number of his findings were completely inaccurate. For example, he stated that our driveway required patch repairs, despite it only being just over a year old. He also reported that the front bedrooms required joint and skim repairs, even though these rooms were freshly plastered only a few years ago. The report noted penetrative dampness to the sink unit, when in reality the damage was caused by our dog. He also referred to our meter as dated, despite it being a smart meter fitted only 6–7 years ago. Much of his attention seemed focused on the shed and outhouse rather than the property itself, and several comments regarding movement and structural concerns appeared unfounded. He even stated that the chimney was a party structure, despite it being located centrally within our property and nowhere near the neighbouring property. There were multiple inaccuracies throughout the report, making the entire process a waste of the buyer’s money and the seller’s time.

Please do not use this surveyor. He attended my property - 3 hours late - was here for 15 minutes total, ill equipped to carry out a survey (no ladders, no damp meter etc etc) and his findings were completely inaccurate. He claimed our chimney was a party structure - it is in the centre of our property nowhere near the neighbouring property, so this is incorrect. He failed to identify a manhole cover in the rear garden, he stated the downstairs is suspended timber flooring - not correct it is solid concrete downstairs. Multiple inaccuracies like this, which is just a waste of buyers’ money and sellers’ time. DO NOT USE

Highly recommend - especially for first time buyers & investors. I’m really glad that I went with A1 Surveyors. Coming from a family of investors, we’ve used other surveyors in the past & Afzal/A1 Surveyors provided a really in depth report compared to previous ones from other companies, so definitely got value for money as it’s also made me aware of significant structural issues. Gemma (receptionist) & Afzal (surveyor) communicated with me throughout the whole process & were really responsive. Afzal also called to run me through the survey & jargon. Couldn’t recommend them enough, especially for the price quoted compared to others on the market & the in-depth report that you receive.

Joke of a survey. We’re currently in the middle of purchasing a property and had a survey done by A1. The 2 stars are for Gemma, and Gemma only. Really useful and really accommodating to get us booked in, couldn’t fault her. The survey was diabolical. Open the survey up to 6 reds and 18 yellows, no greens. Yes, there were lots of photos in the survey of the property, but 90% of the text was general verbatim and nothing to do with the specific property. Painting fences and removing weeds we’re in there as recommendations? We rang Afzal for clarification on some of the issues, and after trying to explain which property it was we were asking about as he had no clue, the biggest risks he painted were movement and damp. There were 11 specific references to damp/mould so we paid £300 for a damp survey (as requested in the survey) and it’s been recommended that we scrape gravel near the damp proof course and we could look to install a fan. Safe to say we won’t be bothering with a structural survey, again as recommended, as a toilet roll has more use than what we paid £400 for. Stay WELL clear - absolute joke

Booked a Level 3 survey, the lady on the phone was brill I got my survey around 1 week later Afzal did a very detailed report and kept me updated with emails as to when I was going to get the report And when I had a question following the report he was very helpful then I would definitely recommend
