Tom carried out a Level 3 survey on a listed Regency flat for me as a first-time buyer. The report was thorough and clear, but what really stood out was the help afterwards. He answered all my follow-up questions patiently and for free, told me honestly when I didn't need to spend money, and steered me away from the wrong kind of damp treatment for a period building. The speed at which South East Surveyors delivers is exceptional and, it is particularly in this, that it stands out from the crowd. Our survey was delivered the day after the property was surveyed, which is outstanding. (We have had to wait 3 to 4.5 weeks for comparable level 3 surveys on previous properties.) And this was achieved without any compromise in the quality of the report which was well structured, well written, clear and easy to follow. The report was accompanied by empirical photographic evidence of the issues to aid client understanding. Tom has good attention to detail which we appreciated, since we do ourselves. I imagine that he is very popular with estate agents and solicitors who are keen to complete property transactions as quickly as possible. Communication was good, prompt and helpful at every stage. A subsequent half hour discussion with Tom regarding condensation, in our case, provided reassurance that it would not persist with the fitting of up-to-date extractor fans and supply of physical ventilation to the roof. We took the time to try and identify a good surveyor (Tom has received numerous awards from his own profession) and he lived up to expectations. He undertakes the majority of the work and administration himself, allowing him to maintain high standards (‘if you want a job done well…’). The price was very competitive too. Quotes were received from other surveyors were £600 more. A job well done.
