Novello Chartered Surveyors - Derby

Changed the name from Goldcrest. Same problems. Anything less than 4.5 on Trustpilot should set alarm bells ringing. Read the negative reviews.

After much research and contemplation, we used Novello for our level three home survey. The couple of negative reviews gave me pause, but fortunately, we had an overall positive experience. They were communicative at the beginning before booking (almost too much) but the info was clear, upfront and in line with the three quotes I received. They were able to fit in the survey quickly (within a couple of days), the surveyor Andrew called us on the day he did the survey for a quick summary of his findings, and we received the report within 72 business hours of the survey completion. One thing to note, my only criticism really, is it felt a bit 'salesy' from the quote through to before the survey was done (with get this add on for less if you add it now, etc.) but overall we are very happy with the service. We used Gold Crest for a Level 2 survey on our new home and were really impressed with their service. From the moment we booked, everything was handled quickly and efficiently. We are first time buyers and recently used gold crest surveyors. After an initial confusion about which level survey they thought we needed (they suggested level 3 and we did question it as we thought we needed level 2, to which they then agreed level 2 would be sufficient) the process was quick and easy, we paid (they were the cheapest quote we received) and had confirmation of date and surveyor really quickly. They fitted us in within a good amount of time (roughly 2 weeks). Once the survey was done the report was sent back the next day and was really thorough. It was easy to understand and helped us make an informed decision about the house we are purchasing. Our surveyor was Ian Callaway and he did a great job. We didn’t feel the need to contact him to ask any questions because the report was really clear, although we could have if we wanted to which was nice to know. Overall a good experience and I would definitely recommend.

Gold crest were great. Not only were they the cheapest quote I obtained but their communication was amazing. They answered all my questions and advised me on the kind of survey my property needed.From confirming my instruction, the survey was completed within a couple of days, and the report was received 4 working days later. Steve Tillotson completed the survey, and the report is very detailed but also easy for me to understand. Would 100% use Gold Crest again.

This company was recommended through a friend. Found filling out the form to obtain a quote very easy and straightforward and the quotation was instant. The emails were very informative and explained everything, after giving the go ahead I received a call to say it was all booked in. The surveyor Emma Harvey was very professional and received a very thorough report including photos. Would highly recommend anyone who needs a survey done.

Very happy with the process of getting a survey done with GoldCrest. I had two surveys done with Bill Saunders and he was very detailed and helpful in his findings. It allowed me to make a well informed decision on deciding which property I wanted to purchase. I also had a follow up call with him and he went into more depth and gave me some reasons/solutions for the problems mentioned that I wanted to look into further. I couldn’t recommend GoldCrest enough and am very happy I chose them to do my surveys.
